Service Description

It All Starts With A Great Design! Whether you are considering enhancing a commercial or a residential property, it is important to remember that everything doesn't have to happen at once. Our team is exceptionally skilled at "phasing" landscape projects over a period of months or years. You can add features from your custom landscape plan as your budget allows, knowing that you will still be progressing toward a complete landscape that will suit your taste and needs. By starting with a professional design, you will also be avoiding the piecemeal approach that often plagues do-it-yourself landscape projects. We often meet with homeowners who begin projects, start to clear areas, put in a mix of plants, and proceed without a plan. The result is a hodgepodge of plantings and gardens that give the property a disorganized feel. Utilizing your custom landscape design ensures a polished look , while remaining within a pre-established budget. - Hardscaping: Hardscaping is a type of landscaping that uses non-living materials to create hard elements in a yard. Hardscapes can include: * Blocks, paving stones, rocks * Gravel, brick, wood, pavers, or stone * Concrete, metal, decks, pergolas, or patio covers * Walkways, retaining walls, pools, patios, and furniture * Most water features Hardscaping can add style and functionality to outdoor spaces. For example, a grill surround can be made out of the same stone as the sitting wall. Hardscapes can also be used to hold soil in place on hills or slopes. - Softscaping: Softscaping is a part of landscape design that refers to the living, horticultural elements of a landscape. Softscape elements include: * Flowers * Plants * Grass * Soil * Flower Beds * Groundcover * Trees * Shrubs * Mulch * Vegetable plants Softscaping can also include other aspects of gardening, such as: Weed Management, Grading, Planting, Mowing, Trimming, Aerating, Spraying, Digging. A well-balanced landscape design will include an attractive combination of both hardscaping and Softscaping elements. - Xeriscaping: Xeriscaping is a landscaping method that aims to reduce the need for irrigation. It involves using drought-tolerant plants, efficient irrigation, and mulching to create a low-maintenance and environmentally friendly landscape. Xeriscaping is designed specifically for areas that are susceptible to drought, or for properties where water conservation is practiced. The term "xeriscaping" comes from Greek and means "dry-scaping".
